Seven DWP Benefits Recipients to Receive £150 Credit in February
Individuals receiving any of seven benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will automatically receive a £150 credit in February 2024 as part of the Warm Home Discount scheme. This initiative aims to assist those who may struggle to pay their energy bills during the colder months.
The Warm Home Discount provides a one-off payment of £150 to eligible recipients to help alleviate the financial burden of energy costs. Those in **Core Group 1** qualify without needing to apply if they receive the guaranteed portion of **Pension Credit**. In **Core Group 2**, eligibility includes individuals on **Income Support**, **Income-based Jobseekers Allowance**, **Income-related Employment and Support Allowance**, **Housing Benefit**, **Universal Credit**, or **Pension Credit Savings Credit (PCSC)**.
For those who pay their energy bills via Direct Debit or receive bills after usage, the £150 credit will appear on their February bills, reflecting January’s consumption. For example, customers with **Utilita** will see this adjustment on their billing statement.
If recipients do not notice the credit by the end of February, it is recommended they contact Utilita for clarification. Pay-as-you-go customers without a smart meter will receive energy vouchers totaling £150. Should they not receive their voucher by the end of the scheme year on **31 March 2026**, they should also reach out for assistance.
Utilita emphasizes the importance of keeping personal details updated to ensure accurate payment processing. Specifically, names must match the records held by DWP. If there has been a name change or any mismatch, individuals should inform both Utilita and the DWP as soon as possible. For name updates, customers can call **0330 3337 442**. To modify other personal details, the most efficient method is through the My Utilita online platform. Alternatively, inquiries directed at the DWP can be made by calling **0800 030 9322** starting from **27 October 2025**.
This initiative highlights the ongoing support for vulnerable individuals during the winter months, aiming to ease the burden of rising energy costs. By providing direct financial assistance, the DWP and energy companies like Utilita are helping to ensure that those in need have access to essential services during challenging times.
