Face Your Fears at Thorpe Park’s Halloween Fright Nights
Thorpe Park is set to transform into a chilling playground this autumn, offering visitors an immersive experience filled with thrills and scares during its annual Fright Nights event. Running on select dates until November 2, 2023, this year’s lineup introduces several new attractions designed to test the courage of even the bravest souls.
Among the standout features is Purgatory Town, where lost souls wander the streets at night, and Creature Campus, a terrifying setting where students must confront horrifying monsters. These immersive scare zones turn the amusement park into a haunted labyrinth teeming with ghouls and supernatural beings. Guests can expect to encounter an array of characters, including Hollywood vampires, bloody brides, and eerie scarecrows, who engage with visitors, creating an interactive experience that heightens the atmosphere of dread.
For those who might find the scares a bit overwhelming, Thorpe Park offers a No Scare Lanyard available at Guest Services, allowing guests to navigate the park with less fright. Even for individuals who are not horror enthusiasts, the event showcases theatrical elements that appeal to a broad audience. One highlight is Lucifer’s Lair, where the Lord of Darkness and his minions deliver spine-tingling performances throughout the evening. This electrifying entertainment includes live rock bands, captivating dancers, and jaw-dropping fire-eaters, ensuring a thrilling night for all.
As night falls, the park’s world-renowned rollercoasters take on a different character. The Hyperia, recognized as the UK’s tallest and fastest coaster, becomes even more exhilarating when experienced in the dark, casting an imposing figure illuminated by ominous red lights. The excitement of rides like Nemesis Inferno, Stealth, and The Swarm is magnified during the Fright Nights, particularly with the typically shorter queues that accompany special events.
For those daring enough to venture into the mazes, four indoor haunted houses are available, including Survival Games and DeadBeat. These attractions are separate from the entry ticket and must be booked in advance, offering an additional layer of thrills for adventurous guests.
Tickets for Thorpe Park’s Fright Nights can be booked online, providing an opportunity for a night filled with jumps, laughter, and screams. With a combination of immersive entertainment and adrenaline-pumping rides, this year’s event promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.
