According to a spokesperson for the duchess, her correspondence has been successfully delivered to Mr. Markle, who has been receiving media attention at his bedside.

Mr. Markle, who has been estranged from his daughter since her wedding in 2018, expressed to the Mail on Sunday his desire to reconnect with Meghan and meet her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as well as her husband, the Duke of Sussex. He highlighted his wish to resolve their distance, stating that he does not want to die without making peace with his daughter.

Meghan’s spokesperson disclosed that the communication was sent via letter, after previous attempts to reach out had been complicated by the presence of a reporter from the Daily Mail. The spokesperson noted, “Given that a Daily Mail reporter has remained at her father’s bedside throughout, broadcasting each interaction and breaching clear ethical boundaries, it has been exceedingly difficult for the duchess to contact her father privately.”

In a prior statement, Mr. Markle claimed to be “confused” by the notion of Meghan reaching out, asserting that he had not received any messages despite not altering his phone number. Following the updated communication, the spokesperson affirmed that with the assistance of trusted contacts, Meghan’s letter is now safely in Mr. Markle’s hands.
