Beautician Isabelle Cross Launches 24-Hour Challenge for Charity
A 21-year-old beautician, Isabelle Cross, is set to undertake a unique 24-hour challenge to raise funds for the charity Breast Cancer Now. The event, dubbed the Beauty-A-Thon, will begin on February 21 at her independent beauty studio, Studio.19, located in her home in Ixworth. This initiative aims to combine community engagement with a passionate cause close to her heart.
Isabelle has crafted a plan that includes offering various beauty treatments at reduced prices, while encouraging optional donations. “I wanted to do something a little different that would really bring the community together,” Isabelle explained. While she expresses excitement about the challenge, she also admits to feeling a bit nervous. Her gratitude towards her clients, friends, and family for their support has been overwhelming.
Fundraising Efforts and Community Support
The Beauty-A-Thon will feature treatments such as gel nails, BIAB nails, tinting and waxing, brow laminations, and LVL lash lifts. In addition to the beauty services, Isabelle plans to boost fundraising through a raffle and cake sales. She has already surpassed her initial fundraising target, with her JustGiving page currently standing at £785.
Raffle tickets are priced at £5 for a strip of five, with an opportunity to earn a free strip by sharing the raffle prizes on social media. Supporters can also participate by booking treatments throughout the event. Isabelle acknowledges that many families are facing financial constraints currently, and she encourages sharing the fundraiser online as a valuable contribution.
A Personal Connection to Breast Cancer Awareness
Isabelle’s motivation for this initiative stems from personal experiences with breast cancer within her family and social circle. “Breast Cancer Now is a charity very close to my heart due to personal experiences within my family and wider circle,” she stated. “I’ve seen the impact breast cancer can have, and I wanted to use my business and social media platform to raise both awareness and donations for such an important cause.”
She emphasized that while the fundraising goal is critical, raising awareness is equally important. “Getting everyone to check their boobs or moobs, as early detection can save a life, is crucial,” she added. Isabelle also hopes to inspire community involvement and showcase what small local businesses can achieve through initiatives like hers.
Planning to make this event a success has sparked ideas for future fundraising efforts for Breast Cancer Now. Since founding Studio.19 at the age of 19, Isabelle has garnered recognition in her field, recently earning awards for her work, including second place for best nail newcomer. Her ambition continues to grow as she aims to make a broader impact through her business and community efforts.
