Leeds GP Surgeries Face Patient Dissatisfaction, Survey Reveals
The recent 2025 GP Patient Survey, conducted by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England, has unveiled significant patient dissatisfaction among certain general practice (GP) surgeries in Leeds. A total of over 700,000 patients across England participated in the survey, which took place from January to March 2025. The survey aimed to evaluate how well local surgeries are meeting patient needs.
Patients were asked various questions regarding their most recent appointments, including whether they felt their healthcare needs were adequately addressed. The results indicate that while a majority felt their needs were met—57% stating they were met “definitely” and 33% “to some extent”—not all GP surgeries achieved this level of satisfaction.
Ranking of Dissatisfied Surgeries in Leeds
The survey highlights the GP surgeries in Leeds where the highest proportion of patients reported that their needs were “not at all” met during their last visit. This data serves as a crucial indicator of patient experiences and highlights areas in need of improvement.
The results show significant variation among practices. Some surgeries received particularly low satisfaction ratings, prompting concerns about the quality of care in those facilities. Patients expressed frustration regarding long wait times, difficulty in scheduling appointments, and perceived inadequacies in communication with healthcare providers.
In light of these findings, health officials are likely to focus on addressing the issues identified in the survey. The ongoing evaluation of patient experiences is essential for enhancing the quality of care across the region. The feedback gathered will be instrumental in informing future improvements to services offered by GP surgeries in Leeds.
As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, the findings from the 2025 GP Patient Survey will play a vital role in shaping policy and practice moving forward. Ensuring that patients feel heard and their needs met is paramount for the ongoing success of healthcare services in the area.
