In response to the recall, point-of-sale notices will be displayed in retail locations where the nougat was sold. Consumers who have purchased the affected product can return it to the store for a full refund, regardless of whether they have a receipt.

Salmonella is a pathogen that can lead to food poisoning, with symptoms typically including fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. Nausea and vomiting may also occur, with symptoms usually manifesting within 12 to 72 hours after exposure. According to the UK Health Security Agency, the duration of the illness generally ranges from four to seven days. Those experiencing severe or prolonged symptoms are urged to seek medical attention.

The recall of the nougat follows a recent incident involving The Bakewell Bakery, which recalled its Shallow Brandy Mince Pies due to health concerns. The Food Standards Association (FSA) reported that these pies contain milk, which was not disclosed on the packaging, posing a health risk to individuals with milk allergies or intolerances. The affected batches include pack sizes of six, with best before dates of February 2, 3, or 4, 2026.

The FSA has advised consumers who purchased the affected mince pies not to consume them and to return the items to the point of sale for a complete refund, again with no receipt required.
