Anđela Jakšić – Stojanović, the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Spasoj Papić, the Acting Director of the Administration for Games of Chance, establishing a strategic partnership aimed at protecting students from the negative consequences of gambling. This collaboration, announced by the ministry, focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles and endorsing sports as a safe alternative for young people.
The memorandum outlines several joint activities, including educational workshops and campaigns in schools. These initiatives will highlight the risks associated with gambling and aim to foster awareness among the youth. Additionally, the partnership will conduct research on the impact of gambling on young individuals and will use social media and traditional media for public awareness campaigns.
Key Initiatives for Student Protection
The collaboration emphasizes a systematic and coordinated approach to prevention. It aims to enhance awareness among young people regarding gambling risks while promoting healthier habits as the foundation for developing future generations. The ministry indicated that the activities would also involve working on recommendations to improve both normative and institutional solutions to address gambling-related issues.
In addition to educational workshops, the partnership will explore various channels to reach students effectively. The focus will be on creating engaging content that resonates with young audiences, thereby reinforcing the message of responsible behavior and healthy choices.
Importance of the Memorandum
The signing of this memorandum is considered significant as it unites two institutions in a mission to combat the growing concerns around gambling among the youth. By collaborating on educational and preventative measures, the Ministry of Education and the Administration for Games of Chance are taking proactive steps to mitigate the potential harm that gambling can cause.
This strategic alliance reflects a broader commitment to safeguard young people while encouraging active participation in sports and other positive activities. The ministry has indicated that the initiatives will roll out in the coming months, aiming to create a lasting impact on the well-being of students.
