Freely Expands Free Content Offerings with Warner Bros. Partnership
Freely, an emerging online streaming platform, is set to enhance its offerings significantly in 2026 through a new partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery UK & Ireland. This collaboration will bring six free-to-air channels to viewers, bolstering Freely’s competitive stance against established rivals such as Sky and Freeview.
Since its launch in 2024, Freely has evolved from a service with limited content and device compatibility to one that now supports a range of devices. Initially, users could only access a few channels on select televisions. However, the introduction of the PLEIO Puck has expanded Freely’s reach, allowing it to stream content to any television connected to the internet.
New Channels and Content Offerings
Starting soon, users with Freely-compatible devices will gain access to popular channels including Quest, Quest Red, Food Network, DMAX, Really, and TLC. This expansion aims to provide viewers with some of the UK’s most beloved factual entertainment series, such as The Yorkshire Auction House and Richard Hammond’s Workshop.
The revamped TLC channel will also introduce a diverse mix of entertainment, featuring hit scripted comedies like The Big Bang Theory and the new spin-off Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Additionally, viewers can look forward to the return of popular unscripted series including Mock the Week and the debut of a new show, Zero Stars, hosted by comedians Roisin Conaty and Sara Pascoe.
In conjunction with these changes, Freely has announced that several other channels will join its lineup, including Hearst Networks EMEA, Bloomberg TV+, Talking Pictures TV, Gemporia, and Local TV. Notably, CNN Headlines has also recently become available on Freely, expanding its news offerings.
Growing Viewership and Accessibility
With these updates, Freely will soon offer over 70 live channels and more than 75,000 hours of on-demand content, all accessible via Wi-Fi. Deep Halder, Chief Commercial Officer of Everyone TV, expressed enthusiasm about the new developments, stating, “These additional channels have so much to offer the Freely audience, further expanding the line-up for UK homes who are increasingly choosing to stream live TV.”
Halder emphasized the convenience of accessing a wide range of entertainment and news on a single platform for free, underscoring Freely’s commitment to providing high-quality content.
To access Freely, viewers need a compatible television or a Freely streaming device. Manufacturers that support Freely include Hisense, Panasonic, Toshiba, Bush, TCL, and Sharp. It is essential for users to check their broadband speed, as all content is delivered via an internet connection rather than traditional aerials.
As Freely continues to enhance its offerings, it positions itself as a formidable competitor in the streaming landscape, catering to the growing demand for accessible, high-quality entertainment free of charge.
