Mark Selby Showcases Lavish Home Ahead of Masters Tournament
Four-time world snooker champion Mark Selby is preparing for his next challenge at the Masters, showcasing not only his impressive skills on the table but also the fruits of his successful career. As the prestigious tournament kicks off at Alexandra Palace, Selby is set to compete against Xiao Guodong in the first round on Sunday evening, with the match broadcast live on BBC Four.
Selby, known as the ‘Jester from Leicester,’ is aiming to secure his fourth Masters title. Although he last won the Triple Crown event in 2013, he enters this year’s competition with renewed confidence after clinching the UK Championship in December 2023. The 42-year-old has amassed an estimated £9.1 million in career prize money, with recent victories in the UK Championship and the Champion of Champions netting him £598,950 for the 2025/26 season. A win at the Masters could further increase his wealth by an additional £350,000.
In a recent tour of his Leicester home, Selby revealed how he has invested some of his snooker earnings. The guided tour, conducted by the World Snooker Tour (WST), began in his practice room, adorned with photographs and memorabilia celebrating his illustrious career. The practice area features a snooker table as the focal point, accompanied by a Wall of Honour listing every world champion, a testament to his accomplishments.
As the tour progressed, Selby showcased a stylish kitchen and lounge area, where a sign reading “Welcome to the Mad House” greets visitors. The lounge, furnished with a large velvet sofa, seamlessly connects to the kitchen, which serves as the heart of family life for Selby, his wife Vikki, and their daughter Sofia. After a recent extension, the lounge was repositioned to enhance the flow between spaces, creating a welcoming environment for family gatherings.
The dining area, situated adjacent to the kitchen, offers scenic views of the garden. Stepping outside, Selby presented a remarkable outdoor space that includes a play area for Sofia. However, the standout feature of the property is an impressive hut that houses an indoor swimming pool. This expansive outdoor area is also equipped with a film projector, pool table, and bar, adding an element of leisure and entertainment to the home.
Despite the luxury of having a pool, Selby humorously admitted that he has never learned to swim. “I still can’t swim. Sofia goes in a lot,” he shared. He recounted a light-hearted incident involving fellow snooker player Mark Williams, who once pretended to push him into the pool during a visit. “I panicked a little bit! I thought he was gonna push me under,” he laughed.
As Selby prepares for the Masters, his home stands as a symbol of his dedication and success in the sport. With substantial financial backing from his career and a luxurious lifestyle to match, he remains an inspiring figure in the world of snooker.
