Police Arrest Suspect in Double Murder Case in Nikšić

Police in Montenegro have apprehended a suspect linked to a double murder in the town of Nikšić. The suspect, identified as Lazar Vulević, was located and arrested by officers from the Regional Center for Security “South” in collaboration with the Border Police Sector. According to a statement from the Police Administration, Vulević was found in a secluded location in Bar using police dogs shortly after the incident.

The arrest follows the discovery of two bodies, a male and a female, found in an apartment on Peka Pavlović Street in central Nikšić. Authorities were alerted to the situation around 19:20 on the previous night when a family member reported that M.P., a 74-year-old individual, had not responded to phone calls for two days.

In response to the report, police initiated an investigation which led them to the apartment, where the tragic discovery was made. Following Vulević’s arrest, police confirmed that he would be brought before the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica along with a criminal complaint within the legal timeframe.

The incident has raised significant concern within the community, emphasizing the ongoing challenges related to violent crime in the region. Local authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding the murders or the relationship between the suspect and the victims.
