Researchers Unveil Publication on Lime Mortars in Kotor Architecture

A significant cultural event is scheduled to take place on September 29, 2025. The JU Kulturni centar „Nikola Đurković“ in Kotor, in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Expeditio and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, will present the research and publication titled “Application of Lime Mortars in Traditional Architecture of Boka Kotorska.” This presentation forms part of the European Heritage Days 2025.

The event will commence at 19:00 in the Multimedia Hall of the Cultural Centre. It aims to illuminate the importance of lime mortars in the preservation and restoration of the region’s architectural heritage. Notable speakers will include architects and conservators Katarina Lisavac and Aleksandra Kapetanović, who will discuss the findings from their research and the broader implications for sustainable building practices.

Jasmina Bajo will moderate the event, which promises to be both informative and engaging. The publication represents a vital contribution to the understanding of cultural heritage in Boka Kotorska and promotes techniques rooted in traditional knowledge and materials.
