Cyclist in Serious Condition After Hit-and-Run in Peterborough

A cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries following a hit-and-run incident in Peterborough on the evening of August 2, 2023. The collision occurred around 18:30 local time between Burswood and Kinnears Walk in the Orton Goldhay area, involving a cyclist and a blue BMW M4.

The victim, a 57-year-old man from Peterborough, was reportedly thrown into the air upon impact. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, where he continues to receive treatment for his serious injuries. The driver of the car did not stop following the incident and has not yet been identified.

Cambridgeshire Police are actively investigating the crash and are appealing for witnesses. A police spokesperson stated, “Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was in collision with a car in Peterborough. The cyclist was cycling in Goldhay Way when he was struck by the blue BMW M4. He was thrown into the air and the driver failed to stop at the scene.”

The blue BMW M4 was later located in a nearby street, but the driver remains at large. Authorities are asking anyone with information, including dashcam or video doorbell footage from the area, to come forward. Information can be reported online or by calling 101, referencing Operation Greenford.
