Chelsea Manager Liam Rosenior Fined for Speeding Conviction

Liam Rosenior, the newly appointed manager of Chelsea FC, has been fined a total of £1,052 after being convicted of speeding. The 41-year-old admitted to driving at 36 mph in a 30 mph zone on July 7, 2023, in Rykneld Road, Littleover, Derbyshire. He failed to attend a mandatory speed awareness course, which contributed to his conviction.

The decision was made by the Derby Magistrates’ Court, which found Rosenior guilty on January 2, 2024. He explained in a note to the court that he was unable to attend the course due to being stranded in France because of fog following a match. “Unfortunately during the time when the drivers awareness course was booked, we were stuck in France due to fog after the game with my work, as it was deemed unsafe to fly back home,” he stated, adding that he had to stay an extra night before returning the following day.

Rosenior took over Chelsea’s managerial role after succeeding Enzo Maresca, marking a significant step in his career following his previous tenure at Strasbourg. He has signed a contract that runs until 2032, succeeding interim manager Calum McFarlane.
