Nemanja Mikulic Crowned Best Karateka in Montenegro for 2025
Nemanja Mikulic, a competitor from the Karate Club Bijela, has been named the top karateka in Montenegro for 2025 by the Karate Federation of Montenegro. Mikulic’s impressive performances throughout the year, including podium finishes at international events, solidified his position at the forefront of the sport in the country.
Outstanding Achievements and Notable Competitors
In March 2025, Mikulic triumphed at the Balkan Games in Budva, claiming a gold medal in the team competition. His consistent performance has made him a standout figure in Montenegrin karate, earning him recognition as the nation’s leading competitor in kumite.
The accolades for 2025 were not limited to Mikulic alone. In the women’s category, Helena Backovic from Omladinac was recognized as the best competitor. In the kata discipline, Vlado Mijacic and Katarina Vlahovic, both from Bar and Iskra respectively, took top honors.
Among younger athletes, Vuk Vucinic and Una Rakovic, both representing Omladinac, were named the best competitors in their category. This highlights the depth of talent in the country’s karate scene.
Recognition for Coaches and Contributions to Karate
The title of best karate club in Montenegro was awarded to Omladinac, reflecting its strong performance across various categories. Additionally, the recognition for the top coaches of the year went to Almir Cehunjanin from Bar and Nenad Vojinovic from Iskra Podgorica, who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill in training their athletes.
Furthermore, the prestigious “Zlatna plaketa karate sporta” award for this year was presented to former national team member Mario Hodzic, who has an impressive record of multiple European and world medals. His achievements continue to inspire current and future generations of karateka in Montenegro.
This recognition of individual and collective excellence in karate not only highlights the sport’s growth in Montenegro but also showcases the dedication of its athletes, coaches, and supporting organizations. The successes of these competitors mark a promising future for karate in the country.
