Manx hockey player Sienna Dunn has been awarded the Under-21 Sportswoman of the Year at the 2025 Isle of Man Sports Awards, held at the Villa Marina Royal Hall on Thursday evening. The recognition highlights Dunn’s impressive achievements in the sport over the past year, including her role as captain of the England under-21 hockey team during the Junior World Cup in Chile.

Dunn, who is currently studying at Nottingham University, has made significant strides in her hockey career. In addition to leading the national team, the 20-year-old contributed to her university’s success by helping them retain the Big Bucs National Final title for the fourth consecutive time. Notably, she scored a crucial goal in the final match at Loughborough.

While Dunn could not attend the awards ceremony due to her commitments off the island, she expressed her gratitude in a pre-recorded message. “It’s a huge honour to receive the Under-21 Sportswoman of the Year award, and I’d like to thank sponsor Suntera,” she stated. She specifically acknowledged the support from Isle of Man Sport and Paul Jones, who has been instrumental in her development as an athlete.

Reflecting on her highlights from the past year, Dunn remarked, “My highlight of 2025 has to be captaining the side out at the Junior World Cup in Chile. It was made particularly special by my parents being able to travel and be there with me.” Looking ahead to 2026, she expressed excitement about continuing in the under-21 age group and the prospect of competing in a European Championship this summer.

In a further testament to her skills, Dunn was recently named in the England under-21 hockey squad for a three-match series against Ireland scheduled for Easter 2026. This selection underscores her ongoing development and commitment to the sport.

With her accolades and continued dedication, Sienna Dunn is poised for a promising future in hockey, making her mark both nationally and internationally.
