Winfrey Park to Undergo £50,000 Revamp for Youngsters

A significant enhancement is on the horizon for Winfrey Park in Long Sutton, which will receive a £50,000 upgrade. The project is made possible through a grant of £24,999 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, along with matching funds from the Long Sutton Parish Council. The aim is to introduce new play equipment that promotes physical activity and outdoor enjoyment for local children.

Parish council clerk Karen Treacher expressed gratitude for the funding, stating, “The council is extremely pleased and thankful for the UKSPF funding Committee for awarding the grant of £24,999.” The council’s commitment to match this funding reflects their dedication to creating a play area that offers fresh experiences for the community’s youth.

Plans for Diverse Play Equipment

Following the summer recess, the parish council plans to evaluate three proposals for the park’s new equipment. The goal is to ensure that the additions cater to a wide age range, providing activities that are both engaging and innovative. Treacher emphasized the importance of this initiative, noting, “Long Sutton is very lucky to have such large parks in the town for everyone’s enjoyment.”
