Young Athletes Shine at VOLI All-Star Game 2025 in Podgorica

The VOLI All-Star Game 2025 kicked off in Podgorica this weekend, showcasing the skills of talented young female basketball players from various age groups. Organized by the Basketball Federation of Montenegro, the event took place at the Bemax Arena, where players were divided into two teams: EKO and M:TEL.

While the focus was not solely on the final score, the first day of the tournament highlighted the achievements of standout players. Coaches selected the best performers in each age category, recognizing their skills and contributions throughout the matches.

In the Mini Basketball category, Anja Pekanović from ŽKK BKM was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). The award was presented by Marko Rajović, coach of KK Sutomore. In the under-14 category, Jana Backović from ŽKK Olymp earned the MVP title, receiving her award from Željko Vukićević, a former coach of Serbia and Montenegro’s youth teams and current coach of ŽKK Budućnost.

The under-16 category saw Petra Sučević take home the MVP honors, with the recognition presented by basketball referee Tamara Raičević. In the under-20 competition, Sara Đukić from KK Podgorica received the MVP award, which was handed to her by Smiljana Milatović, a former Yugoslav representative and assistant coach of ŽKK Budućnost.

Looking ahead, the second day of the VOLI All-Star Game 2025 will feature young male athletes competing in their respective age categories, also held at the Bemax Arena. The event continues to foster a love for basketball among the youth in Montenegro, highlighting the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork.
