Boxers from Bijelo Polje Prepare for Balkan Open Matches
Boxers from Bijelo Polje are set to compete in the fourth round of the regional Balkan Open tournament, taking place on March 15, 2024, in Štip, North Macedonia. This event is part of the Jordan Mijalkov Memorial Tournament and features promising young athletes representing the club.
The team includes cadet boxer Savo Šarčević competing in the under 54 kg category, alongside juniors Omar Bahović (under 60 kg), Tarik Hrapović (under 66 kg), and Vasilije Bugarin (over 80 kg). Each athlete is preparing to face strong opponents, which adds to the excitement of the competition.
Šarčević will go up against Ali Lekpek from Serbia. Bahović is anticipating a challenging match against Luka Ivanovski from North Macedonia, while Hrapović will face Amin Nedžipija, also from North Macedonia. Bugarin will compete against local fighter Bertan Ibraimov. The matches promise to deliver high-stakes action, showcasing the talents of these young boxers.
Leading the team are coaches Mugoša Kovačević and Budimir Radošević, who have been instrumental in preparing the athletes for this key tournament. Traveling with the team is captain Mirko Šarčević, who is gearing up to participate in the international tournament in Nish the following weekend after a significant break from competition.
The Balkan Open represents an important opportunity for these young athletes to gain valuable experience and demonstrate their skills on a larger stage. As they prepare for their matches, the boxers from Bijelo Polje are focused on delivering their best performances in honor of their club and their coach. The anticipation is building for what promises to be an exhilarating day of boxing in Štip.
