Lovćen Clinches Victory in Nikšić, Concludes 2025 Season Strong

The handball team Lovćen wrapped up the 2025 season with a decisive victory against Sutjeska in Nikšić, winning the match 33-29. Under the guidance of coach Filip Popović, the reigning champions of Montenegro maintained control throughout the game, with a pivotal moment occurring 15 minutes before the end when they surged ahead 24-20.

Strong performances from key players were instrumental in securing the win. Bogdan Petričević led the scoring with nine goals from 11 attempts, while Nikola Andrić contributed six goals. Both Aleksa Perišić and Vladimir Stanković added four goals each to the tally. In goal, Vasilije Vujović showcased his skills with 12 saves, further bolstering Lovćen’s defense.

In contrast, Sutjeska saw notable efforts from Aleksa Jokic, who scored seven goals, and Jovo Damjanović, who added six to the scoreline. Despite their efforts, the team was unable to overcome Lovćen’s lead.

With this victory, Lovćen solidified their position at the top of the league standings with a total of 24 points, two points ahead of Budvanska Rivijera, which has played one match less. Budućnost Podgorica trails four points behind while also having played one fewer game.

Elsewhere in the league, Mornar 7 secured a convincing win against Berane 1949, finishing the game with a score of 25-19. Enes Mulić led the home side with seven goals, while Filip Junković made a significant impact in goal with 16 saves. For the visiting team, Nemanja Popović had 17 saves, with Luka Došljak and Nikola Babović both netting four goals.
