Dog Walker Hospitalised After Attack by Bullies and Staffys
A dog walker was hospitalised following a brutal attack by a group of dogs identified as “Bullies and Staffys” while walking his Labrador in Cambuslang, Glasgow. Emergency services responded to the incident on Bogleshole Road at approximately 17:05 on September 19, 2025, after receiving reports of a man and his pet being set upon by multiple dogs.
The victim, a 65-year-old man, was urgently taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. His Labrador was also transported to a local veterinary clinic for care. According to eyewitness accounts, the attack involved five dogs, which were described as “Bullies and Staffys.”
Police Response and Arrest
In the aftermath of the incident, Police Scotland confirmed that they received a report around the same time as the attack. A spokesperson stated, “Around 17:05 on September 19, 2025, we received a report of a group of dogs setting upon a man and his dog in Bogleshole Road, Cambuslang.”
Officers promptly arrived at the scene and arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the attack. The police have indicated that the man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal, although further details about the charges have not yet been disclosed.
The incident has raised concerns in the local community about dog safety and the responsibilities of pet owners. As investigations continue, authorities are urging dog owners to ensure their pets are controlled at all times to prevent similar incidents in the future.
This harrowing event serves as a reminder of the potential dangers posed by aggressive animals and the importance of vigilance during dog walks. Both the injured man and his dog are currently recovering, but the community remains on alert as they await further updates from law enforcement.
