Manchester United Pursues Benjamin Sesko with £74 Million Offer

Manchester United is moving closer to securing the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko with a bid that totals €75 million (£65.3 million), plus an additional €10 million (£8.7 million) in potential add-ons. This development comes despite a competing offer from Newcastle United, which is believed to be more lucrative. However, sources indicate that Sesko’s personal preference could ultimately influence his choice, especially as United seeks to rebound from a challenging previous season under head coach Ruben Amorim.

As negotiations progress, Sesko has been training separately from his teammates this week, a situation confirmed by Leipzig in a statement released on Wednesday. The club noted: “Wednesday squad update: Andrija Maksimovic is back in Leipzig, but is training individually today. Benjamin Sesko and Lukas Klostermann are also working individually.”

In a recent update, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggested that Leipzig might extend negotiations in an effort to maximize the transfer fee. “Christopher Vivell is working on this deal because he knows the Red Bull group very well, but also Jason Wilcox is being crucial in these conversations and negotiations,” Romano stated on his YouTube channel. Speaking about the interest from United in a 2023 interview with The Telegraph, Sesko remarked, “The thing is, I was not really into that kind of conversation, but I think it was better just to come here.”
