A mass shooting at a pub in Bekkersdal, located approximately 28 miles from Johannesburg, has left nine people dead and at least ten others injured. The incident occurred at the Kwanoxolo bar shortly before 1 a.m. local time when gunmen attacked patrons gathered outside.

Fred Kekana, the provincial police commissioner, confirmed that among the deceased was a driver from a car-hailing service who had been parked outside the establishment.
