LEGO Toy Sparks Confusion with Unusual Safety Warning

A new children’s toy from LEGO has ignited confusion among parents due to a peculiar safety warning. The Bluey Playground Fun Set, priced at £17.97, has been listed on Amazon with a caution that has raised eyebrows. While the toy features popular characters from the children’s television show Bluey, it includes a warning advising consumers not to use it near overhead power lines.

The product description states that the set is suitable for children aged four and older, offering a “fun building experience” with characters and activities inspired by the Bluey series. However, the warning about power lines is particularly striking given the toy’s size. The LEGO slide included in the set stands at approximately one foot tall, while the average height of a National Grid power line is about 36 meters (approximately 118 feet).

The safety notice outlines three warnings: the first two inform consumers that the set is “not suitable for children under 36 months” and that “adult supervision is recommended.” The third warning, which advises against using the toy near power lines, appears to be an unnecessary precaution given the toy’s dimensions.

This unusual warning caught the attention of the Daily Star, which noted the implausibility of a child being able to fly or launch the small toy to such heights. Following the publication of their article, it appears that the warning was quietly removed from the product listing, although the Bluey toy continues to receive positive feedback, with an average rating of 4.7 stars out of five.

The Daily Star has since reached out to LEGO for further clarification on the matter. As of now, it seems there have been no reports of incidents involving the toy and overhead power lines, suggesting that the warning may have been overly cautious.

As the toy remains popular among young fans of the show, the incident underscores the importance of clear and sensible communication regarding safety warnings in children’s products.
