Stefan Dennis and Dianne Buswell Share Health Update on Strictly Come Dancing

Stars of the popular show Strictly Come Dancing, Stefan Dennis and Dianne Buswell, have confirmed their upcoming return to the dance floor following Dennis’s recent illness. The announcement came during a pre-recorded segment on the BBC’s spin-off show, It Takes Two, where the duo expressed gratitude for the support they received while Dennis was sidelined.
Dennis, who had to withdraw from the live show scheduled for March 23, 2024, due to health issues, reassured fans of his recovery. “I just wanna say thank you very much for all your support and well wishes while I was away last week,” he stated. “We’re back in the training room, and if all goes well – which it will! – I’m gonna be back on the floor with the lovely Dianne this Saturday. Looking forward to it!”
The pair also hinted at an exciting routine, with Buswell asking, “And what dance are we doing?” Dennis responded, “We might just be doing the charleston!” Buswell added, “I can finally use my basketball hand!”
Despite the positive update, speculation arose online regarding the nature of Dennis’s illness. Some fans speculated that it was Buswell who was unwell, prompting her to clarify the situation on social media. She emphasized, “Just to clarify I’ve had lots of people messaging me thinking this is a cover up for me not being able to dance?! Firstly, we wouldn’t lie, especially about someone being sick. And secondly, I am fine. Yes, I am pregnant, but I’m also very capable and feeling good!”
Buswell made history as the first professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing to perform while pregnant. She also reassured fans that protocols are in place should any dancers face health issues.
Dennis, 66, is widely recognized for his role as the villainous Paul Robinson on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. He is partnered with Buswell, who won the previous season alongside comedian Chris McCausland.
This past weekend saw the exit of television presenter Ross King from the competition, leaving viewers surprised by the decision not to have guest judge Cynthia Erivo score the performances of the week.
As the competition heats up, fans eagerly anticipate Dennis and Buswell’s return, hoping to see them shine on the dance floor once again.
