Northampton Students’ Union Celebrates UKCISA Awards Nominees

The Northampton Students’ Union (NSU) is celebrating the achievements of its members who have been shortlisted for prestigious awards at the UKCISA #WeAreInternational Awards. Among the nominees is Hafiz, who is vying for the Student Leader of the Year Award due to his significant contributions to the NSU and the wider student community.

In addition to Hafiz’s recognition, the Vietnamese Student Society has been nominated for the Global Community Award 2025. The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) selected these finalists from over 420 nominations across 120 institutions, highlighting the exceptional efforts of students dedicated to fostering international student engagement.

Hafiz has taken a proactive role in spearheading initiatives that align with both his personal values and the vision of NSU. His commitment to building strong communities has empowered fellow students to effect positive change while navigating their academic journeys. By coordinating representative social events, Hafiz has not only created opportunities for celebration but has also cultivated a genuine sense of community, enhanced peer recognition, and underscored the vital role of student leadership.

CEO Roger Weston praised Hafiz’s contributions, stating, “Hafiz has been a consistent presence in student roundtables with senior University staff, representing NSU and our students with integrity, clarity, and a clear, consistent message.” Weston emphasized Hafiz’s ability to advocate effectively in important discussions, reinforcing the connection between NSU and the University of Northampton. He remarked that Hafiz’s dedication has rightfully led to his nomination for the UKCISA Student Leader of the Year award.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 19, 2025, at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London. This event will recognize the outstanding contributions of students across the UK, showcasing their commitment to enriching the educational experience for international students.
