Traffic on the M25 is facing significant disruptions following a vehicle fire that occurred on Thursday evening in Essex. The incident took place between junctions J27 and J28 in a clockwise direction, resulting in a complete halt of vehicles in the affected area.

Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, with two patrol cars from National Highways and crews from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service deployed to manage the situation. According to National Highways, “NEW INCIDENT. #M25 clockwise between J27 (#M11) and J28 (#A12) Essex. TRAFFIC STOPPED. Due to a car fire. @ECFRS on scene along with 2 of our patrols.”

Despite the fire being extinguished, traffic remains heavily congested. Currently, there are approximately three miles of tailbacks, with delays estimated at around 30 minutes. As motorists navigate through this challenging situation, updates will continue to be provided, allowing drivers to stay informed about traffic conditions on this major motorway.
