The Novski derby is set to dominate attention this evening as the seventh round of the EPCG Superliga for women’s volleyball commences. This highly anticipated match features the defending champions, Herceg Novi, facing off against Albatros in a critical showdown at the Sports Centre “Igalo.” With an impressive record of six matches played and only a single loss, Albatros aims to challenge the only undefeated team in the league.

In addition to the Novski derby, the round includes several other exciting matches. Budva will host Moraca at 19:00 on Saturday, as Moraca seeks to build on their recent victory against Mediteran, ending a three-match losing streak. Budva, however, has struggled this season, registering only one win and five losses, making this match crucial for their morale.

Just half an hour later, Mediteran will take on Luka Bar at the SC “Rea,” a match that promises to be equally thrilling. Luka Bar has demonstrated strong performance, narrowly losing only to Herceg Novi in a five-set thriller and allowing just one set to Buducnost. Meanwhile, Mediteran also aims to bounce back from three consecutive defeats after earlier wins against Jedinstvo and Rudar.

The final match of Saturday’s schedule features Jedinstvo facing Rudar in a battle to escape the bottom of the table. Rudar remains the only team yet to secure a victory this season, while Jedinstvo, with one win and four losses, is also eager for a turnaround.

Looking ahead to Sunday, Buducnost will visit Gimnazijalac following their recent European campaign against Spanish club Aro Rioha in the first round of the Čelendž kup. Buducnost has recovered from two losses in previous derbies, currently riding a wave of three consecutive victories in the domestic league. Gimnazijalac, on the other hand, has managed two wins in six matches, making this encounter critical for both teams’ aspirations.

The fixtures for the seventh round are as follows:
– Tonight: Albatros vs. Herceg Novi (19:00)
– Saturday: Budva vs. Moraca (19:00), Mediteran vs. Luka Bar (19:30), Jedinstvo vs. Rudar (20:00)
– Sunday: Gimnazijalac vs. Buducnost (19:00)

As the teams prepare for their respective matches, the excitement around the Novski derby and the implications for the league standings are palpable. Fans and players alike anticipate a weekend filled with high-stakes volleyball action.
