Jersey Telecoms Welcomes New Leadership with Board Appointments
Jersey Telecoms has appointed a new chair and a non-executive director to its board, marking a significant shift in its leadership. Andy Green CBE takes the helm as chair of the telecoms company, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous roles, including chief executive of BT Global Services and group chief executive of Logica PLC. Green was awarded a CBE in 2020 for his contributions to the information technology sector and the British space industry.
In his statement, Green expressed enthusiasm for joining the board at such a pivotal time for the company. “JT has a proud history of innovation and service, and I’m delighted to be joining the board at such an exciting time,” he said. He noted that the telecoms sector is evolving rapidly, positioning Jersey Telecoms to lead in advanced digital infrastructure, customer experience, and managed services. Green looks forward to collaborating with the board and the executive team to shape the future of the company.
Joining Green is Brian FitzPatrick, who has been appointed as a non-executive director. FitzPatrick has held significant leadership positions including chief executive of Vodafone Carrier Services and managing director and president of BT Wholesale. His extensive experience in the telecommunications industry is expected to contribute positively to Jersey Telecoms’ strategy and growth.
Daragh McDermott, chief executive of Jersey Telecoms, expressed confidence in the new appointments. “We are delighted to welcome both Andy as our new Chair and Brian as Non-Executive Director to the JT Group Board,” he stated. McDermott emphasized that the deep sector expertise and collaborative leadership styles of Green and FitzPatrick will be invaluable as the company continues to grow and innovate.
Both appointments reflect Jersey Telecoms’ commitment to future innovation for its customers, both locally and globally. The new leadership team is set to steer the company through a transformative period in the telecommunications landscape, focusing on enhancing service quality and expanding its digital capabilities.
As the telecoms industry faces rapid change, the strategic insights and experience of Green and FitzPatrick will be crucial in navigating these challenges. Jersey Telecoms aims to solidify its position as a leader in the sector, leveraging advanced technology and customer-centric approaches to drive growth.
