Women’s Aid Opens Vibrant Pop-Up Shop in Antrim
Women’s Aid ABCLN has launched a vibrant new pop-up shop in Antrim, located at Grace House on Fountain Street. The shop offers an impressive selection of quality new and nearly new women’s clothing, accessories, books, and unique treasures, allowing shoppers to support a vital local cause while discovering distinctive items.
During the opening, Gillian Creevy, CEO of Women’s Aid ABCLN, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to be opening this new shop in the heart of Antrim. It is a wonderful opportunity for the community to support our work with women and children, shop sustainably, purchase some beautiful brands, and help transform lives.”
Community Support and Sustainability
The pop-up shop has already attracted attention with its eye-catching window displays and new fixtures. Gillian Creevy noted the positive response from the community: “The enthusiasm we have received has been incredible, and we look forward to welcoming everyone through our doors.” Every purchase made at the shop will directly contribute to sustaining Women’s Aid’s specialist services and support for women and children experiencing domestic abuse in Antrim.
Initially launched as a pop-up, the shop aims to establish a permanent presence in the community in the coming weeks. In addition to offering a unique retail experience, it will serve as a safe space for women to access information and support.
Noreen McClelland, a Women’s Aid Ambassador and former councillor, attended the launch and remarked on the initiative’s significance: “I am delighted to be part of this exciting new shopping experience for women in Antrim. Having been involved with the organisation for many years, I know firsthand the incredible work Women’s Aid does in our local community and am looking forward to coming on board as a new retail volunteer.”
Volunteer Opportunities and Community Engagement
Volunteers will play a crucial role in the shop’s sustainability and success. Noreen McClelland encourages community members to get involved: “If you would like to help out in the shop and volunteer for a few hours each week, we would love to hear from you. Volunteering is a deeply rewarding way to give back and help Women’s Aid provide life-changing support for women and children.”
Those interested in volunteering with Women’s Aid ABCLN can call 028 25 632136 or email [email protected] for more information.
With this new initiative, Women’s Aid ABCLN not only enhances its outreach but also fosters community engagement, making a significant impact on the lives of women and children affected by domestic abuse.
