Serbian police executed a tactical operation in Belgrade on the evening of March 15, 2024, resulting in the arrest of two individuals linked to a high-risk organized crime group from Montenegro. The arrested suspects are Vladimir Ulama, 32, and Igor Tomašević, 28, both of whom were subjects of international arrest warrants issued by the Interpol National Central Bureau in Podgorica.

The arrests occurred following a coordinated effort involving the Criminal Police Directorate of Serbia, which acted on precise intelligence provided by the Special Anti-Corruption Unit of Montenegro. This operation was the culmination of several months of thorough planning and strategic collaboration.

According to the Montenegrin Police Administration, Vladimir Ulama is wanted for establishing a criminal organization, with ongoing criminal proceedings against him in the Higher Court in Podgorica. Additionally, he is serving a prison sentence following a conviction for assaulting an official in the performance of their duties, as ruled by the Basic Court in Bar.

On the other hand, Igor Tomašević faces charges in a separate case that includes attempted murder, unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, as well as violent behavior. He is sought to ensure his presence at the criminal proceedings against him in the Higher Court in Podgorica.

This operation underscores the commitment of the Serbian authorities to combat organized crime effectively. The Police Administration reiterated its determination to neutralize the activities of high-risk organized crime groups and to lead regional initiatives against such criminal enterprises.

Furthermore, the police continue to engage in intensive regional and international intelligence cooperation to locate and apprehend individuals wanted on international warrants. This ongoing effort highlights Montenegro’s dedication to fighting crime and strengthening the rule of law.
