Liverpool DJ Anna Eager Set to Shine at Creamfields Festival

Anna Eager, a talented DJ from Kirkby, is gearing up for a remarkable performance at the renowned Creamfields festival on August 26, 2023. With an electrifying energy and a passion for music, Eager’s journey from a music enthusiast to a rising DJ has captivated many in the industry.
From Passion to Profession
Eager’s love for music sparked at a young age when she started recording tracks from the radio onto cassette tapes. As technology evolved, so did her passion; she transitioned from CDs to MP3s, and eventually to digital platforms like SoundCloud. Inspired by the vibrant nightlife and musical experiences in clubs such as Circo and Garlands, and events like Creamfields and Ibiza, Eager felt an undeniable pull towards becoming a DJ.
“I’ve always found myself in charge of the tunes at any party,” Eager recalled. Encouraged by friends who suggested she pursue DJing, she embarked on this journey during the end of the COVID-19 lockdown. Under the guidance of her favourite local DJ, Billie Clements, Eager discovered her talent and passion for the decks, leading to her first gigs.
A Career Transformation
Eager took a significant step in her career when she performed at a brand event for Boux Avenue in Liverpool One in May 2022. This opportunity made her realize that DJing brought her more joy than her full-time job as an architect. By July 2022, she made the leap to become a full-time DJ, marking a pivotal moment in her life.
Among her highlights, Eager lists her performances at O Beach in Ibiza and supporting Gok Wan at the Carriage Shed in Chester. However, her upcoming set at Creamfields holds a special significance. “It will be surreal to be on the other side of the stage – a dream come true,” she expressed. Eager will play on the Main Stage, sharing the lineup with notable artists such as The Swedish House Mafia, MK, and Clementine Douglas.
Empowering Female DJs
Eager is part of a thriving community of female DJs in Liverpool. “It’s great to see so many women succeeding in this industry,” she noted. Social media has played a crucial role in increasing the visibility of female DJs, inspiring more women to explore DJing. Eager collaborates with several female artists in the city, creating a supportive network that fosters mutual success.
When asked about her musical style, Eager described her preference for uplifting, vocal house music infused with a Balearic vibe, alongside funky and disco house. Influences from icons like Avicii, Calvin Harris, and legendary musicians such as Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston shape her sound.
Eager currently holds a residency at The Ivy, a prestigious venue known for its luxurious atmosphere. “It’s amazing DJing for events in the private dining room,” she said, highlighting the glamour associated with her role.
Looking ahead, Eager has plans to dive into music production, promising fans that there is much more to come. After Creamfields, she is set to perform at the Café Mambo Ibiza Classics takeover at Mansion in Liverpool, supporting Mark Knight on October 11.
As she prepares for a busy and exciting future, Anna Eager’s journey exemplifies the power of pursuing one’s passion and the vibrant music culture in Liverpool. With aspirations to produce chart-topping tracks and perform at more events globally, she is undoubtedly an emerging talent to watch in the music industry.
