This sentiment is echoed by Cllr Alun Williams, Deputy Leader of Ceredigion County Council, who emphasized the area’s aging population and high life expectancy. He remarked, “With stroke being most common in people over 65 years old, we clearly need to maintain the current level of care we already have in Bronglais.”

With Ysbyty Bronglais being the only District General Hospital between Carmarthen and Bangor, its continued operation is crucial for the healthcare framework in Wales. The council’s position reflects a strong consensus on the necessity of preserving and enhancing local healthcare services.
