A foot model in Florida has reported an alarming incident involving a client who allegedly ran her over after she declined his request to sniff her feet during their first date. The accused, Elmoncy Sercle, was arrested following the encounter that took place on August 24, 2023, at a hotel in Aventura, according to an arrest affidavit.

The woman, who sells used trainers, described her unsettling experience to authorities. After meeting Sercle through the dating app Seeking.com, she stated that upon entering her hotel room, he immediately asked if he could smell her feet and expressed interest in purchasing her worn trainers. Feeling uncomfortable with the request, she told Local 10, “When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet and I didn’t feel comfortable with that.”

She explained that she was willing to sell her sneakers for $1,000 (approximately £744) but did not want to engage in the foot-related request. After briefly leaving Sercle alone to use the bathroom, she discovered he had fled the room. Concerned he had taken something of hers, she pursued him into the parking lot.

Witnesses reported that after spotting Sercle in a red SUV, he allegedly made a U-turn and struck her with the vehicle. The woman sustained road rash and bruises on her arms and chest from the impact. Following the incident, Sercle reportedly fled the scene.

Police apprehended Sercle on August 28, 2023, while he was attempting to book a room at the same hotel. He has since been charged with aggravated battery and has entered a plea of not guilty, according to online court records. The affidavit also suggests that he may be linked to other incidents with similar patterns, although no charges related to these have been filed as of yet.

This unusual case has drawn significant attention, particularly because of the peculiar nature of the request made by Sercle. According to a survey conducted last year, an estimated two million people in the UK have a fascination with foot odours, with some individuals even stating such preferences enhance their partner’s attractiveness. Interestingly, residents of Bradford emerged as the most enthusiastic about this quirk, with 8% expressing their fondness for “toxic trotters.”

As this case unfolds, it raises questions about personal boundaries in the realm of dating, particularly in situations involving unconventional requests. While interest in specific fetishes can be a part of adult relationships, safety and consent remain paramount. The legal proceedings against Sercle will likely continue to spark discussions about such issues in the dating world.
