Experienced goalkeeper Paul Jones has joined Spalding United on a two-month loan from King’s Lynn, a club in the National League North. The 39-year-old goalkeeper’s transfer follows the departure of Aaron Chapman, who has moved to King’s Lynn this week. Jones brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for clubs such as Exeter City, Peterborough United, Crawley Town, and Portsmouth.

Jones is set to make his debut for Spalding in their upcoming match against Stratford Town on Saturday, September 30, 2023. This match is part of the Southern League Premier Division Central. The Tulips will be looking to build on their recent performances as they seek to improve their standing in the league.

In related news, Stamford will host Bury Town at the Zeeco Stadium as they aim to secure their first league victory following a successful FA Cup outing last week. Meanwhile, Bourne Town will not face Stamford in the FA Cup after losing their midweek replay against Shepshed Dynamo. They will shift their focus to the FA Trophy, where they will welcome AFC Rushden & Diamonds to the JJ Mac Stadium.

In the Sports Ground Development League Cup, Grantham Town, Deeping Rangers, Harrowby United, and Blackstones will all be in action. Grantham will host Clifton All Whites, while Deeping Rangers will travel to Retford United. Harrowby is set to visit Lutterworth Town, and Blackstones will go to Dronfield. Notably, Blackstones have re-signed Kyle Rowell from Bourne Town, who has also featured for Grantham this season.

Additionally, Pinchbeck United will have a break this weekend following their midweek cup victory over Yaxley. In Division One North of the Thurlow Nunn League, Holbeach United will host FC Clacton, looking to gain momentum in the league.

As the football season progresses, teams will continue to battle for positions in their respective leagues, making each match crucial for their aspirations.
