Kristina Ozturk, a 27-year-old influencer, has made headlines for her commitment to expanding her family. She is the mother of 22 children, all conceived through surrogacy with her husband, Galip Ozturk, a businessman with a controversial past. Galip, who was previously sentenced to life in prison for murder, was released under supervised conditions in July 2023, after serving two years of an eight-year sentence related to drug charges.

Galip Ozturk, the founder of Metro Tourism, one of Turkey’s largest intercity passenger transportation companies, has a complex history. In 1996, he was convicted for allegedly orchestrating the murder of an employee, Kuvvet Köseoğlu, in Istanbul. After fleeing Turkey, he settled in Georgia, where he met Kristina. Their relationship has attracted considerable media attention, particularly due to their unconventional family dynamics.

Kristina and Galip’s journey into parenthood began between March 2020 and July 2021, during which they invested approximately £133,000 ($180,000) in surrogacy services. This resulted in a large family that includes 22 children: Victoria, Mustafa, Maryam, Ayrin, Alice, Hassan, Judy, Harper, Teresa, Hussein, Anna, Isabella, Ismail, Mehmet, Ahmet, Ali, Kristina, Alena, Sarah, Lockman, Alparslan, and Olivia. Notably, 20 of these children were born within just over a year.

Despite the challenges of raising such a large family, Kristina has expressed her intention to have even more children. In interviews, she has shared that both she and her husband dreamed of a large family from a young age. “Our romantic relationship has changed, but our whole lives have changed, not just the romantic part,” she stated in a 2021 interview with Fabulous. Kristina aims to create what she describes as the “happiest family in the world.”

While the couple employs nannies to assist with childcare, Kristina emphasizes her active role in daily parenting duties. She described her responsibilities, saying, “Each day is different, from planning staff schedules to shopping for my family. I can tell you one thing – my days are never boring.”

Looking to the future, the couple plans to wait until their children are older before embarking on another surrogacy journey. Galip’s recent legal troubles have not deterred their aspirations. He was released from prison after being convicted of illegal possession of drugs and psychotropic substances. To celebrate his return home, Kristina hosted a lavish party at their residence in Batumi, where the couple initially met.

The Turkish media outlet Haberler reported on June 30, 2023, that Galip was released under the conditions of supervised release, allowing him to reintegrate into society after his tumultuous past. As Kristina continues to share her family journey on social media, she remains a polarizing figure, garnering both support and criticism for her choices and lifestyle.
