Abandoned Dog Loka Seeks Loving Home After Rescue in Egypt
A six-year-old black retriever named Loka is in urgent need of a new home after being abandoned by her owners in Egypt. Rescued by the animal welfare organization Miracle’s Mission, Loka was found in a critical condition, close to death, and has since undergone an extensive recovery process.
Loka’s journey began when her previous family decided they no longer wanted her, leaving her to fend for herself on the streets. During this time, she became emaciated and infested with parasites, struggling to survive without any support. Fortunately, rescue workers discovered her and took her to safety, where she has since regained her health and mobility.
From Abandonment to Recovery
According to a statement from Miracle’s Mission, Loka’s story highlights the cruelty that can occur when pets are discarded. “Having been a pet, she did not cope well and could not fend for herself,” the organization noted. Initially, Loka was placed in a shelter in Egypt due to the high number of unwanted retrievers in the area. She was later adopted by another family; however, they too found themselves unable to keep her and sought to rehome both Loka and a smaller dog they had.
Despite her tumultuous past, Loka has been described as a “sweet and very playful girl.” She enjoys the company of humans and is particularly good with other dogs. Miracle’s Mission is now looking for an “active owner” for Loka, ideally someone who already has a pet dog and can provide her with the exercise and companionship she requires.
A Call for Adoption
Loka’s new home should ideally have a large, secure garden where she can run and play freely. She also has a fondness for water and would thrive in an environment that allows her to enjoy outdoor activities. The organization emphasizes her need for plenty of walks and socialization with other like-minded dogs.
Miracle’s Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing sick, injured, and disabled animals globally. Their mission includes providing safety for animals in danger and promoting responsible pet ownership through education and neutering initiatives. They currently operate from a rescue base in the UK but do not have their own kennels or facilities.
If you are interested in giving Loka a loving home, you can contact Miracle’s Mission at [email protected]. This is an opportunity to provide a second chance for a dog who has endured much hardship and to welcome a loyal companion into your life.
