Exciting Novski Derby Kicks Off EPCG Superliga Round Seven

The highly anticipated Novski derby opens the seventh round of the EPCG Superliga for women’s volleyball this evening. The match features the reigning champions, Herceg Novi, who remain the only unbeaten team in the league, facing off against Albatros at the SC “Igalo”. Albatros enters the match with just one loss in six rounds, setting the stage for a competitive showdown.

In addition to the Novski derby, two other matches are scheduled for Saturday in Budva and Bijelo Polje. At 19:00 local time, Budva will host Moraca, who recently ended a three-match losing streak by securing a victory against Mediteran. Budva has faced tough opposition from the top teams, holding a record of 1-5 thus far this season.

Shortly after, at 19:30, Mediteran will take on Luka Bar in a nearby venue, SC “Rea”. Luka Bar has been performing well, with their only defeat coming from a five-set thriller against Herceg Novi, where they only conceded one set to Buducnost. Mediteran finds itself in a challenging position, on a three-match losing streak following victories against Jedinstvo and Rudar.

The final match of Saturday’s program features Jedinstvo facing Rudar in Bijelo Polje. Rudar is currently the only team without a win, while Jedinstvo has a record of 1-4, not accounting for their postponed match against Budva.

On Sunday, Buducnost will visit Gimnazijalac after competing in the European Challenge Cup against the Spanish team Aro Rioja. Following two derby losses to Herceg Novi and Luka Bar, Buducnost has bounced back with three consecutive victories in the championship, while Gimnazijalac holds two wins from six matches.

The fixtures for the seventh round are as follows: Tonight, Albatros vs. Herceg Novi (19:00). Tomorrow, Budva vs. Moraca (19:00), Mediteran vs. Luka Bar (19:30), and Jedinstvo vs. Rudar (20:00). On Sunday, Gimnazijalac vs. Buducnost (19:00) will conclude the round.
