Viral 6-7 Trend Fades as Children Move On from Chaos
The viral trend surrounding the numbers 6 and 7 has sparked frustration among parents and teachers across the UK. Children have adopted a highly repetitive and irritating chant of “6-7,” often accompanied by hand movements resembling weighing scales. This phenomenon, which has taken over classrooms and social media, appears to be on the decline.
The origins of the trend can be traced back to a song by the artist Skrilla titled “Doot Doot (6 7).” The catchy lyrics became popular on platforms like YouTube, leading to a surge in its use among children. The trend further gained traction with the association of the phrase to LaMelo Ball, a professional basketball player standing at 6 feet 7 inches.
As the “6-7” chant swept through TikTok, millions of posts emerged, showcasing children and even some adults engaging in the trend. The phrase became so widely recognized that it has been described as a meme that has invaded everyday conversations, leaving many adults feeling exasperated.
Although the trend initially captivated young audiences, signs indicate that it is losing its appeal. Parents and educators have begun to counter the chant by adopting it themselves, inadvertently diminishing its cool factor among children. As adults join in, the trend risks becoming less appealing, which may lead to its eventual decline.
In light of this shift, many parents are hopeful that the “6-7” trend will soon be a thing of the past, allowing for a more peaceful classroom environment. The chant, while entertaining for some, has become a source of irritation for others, leading to discussions about its appropriateness in educational settings.
With viral trends often coming and going swiftly, it remains to be seen whether “6-7” will fade completely or if it will find new life in another form. For now, children and adults alike can expect to hear this catchy phrase less frequently as the trend diminishes.
