Montenegrin kickboxer Nemanja Čađenović has secured a place in the semifinals of the senior world championship in Abu Dhabi, guaranteeing him a medal in the process. Competing in the under 71-kilogram category in the low kick discipline, Čađenović triumphed over Azerbaijan’s Elnur Mustafajev with a score of 2-1. This victory marks the third medal of his career at major competitions.

Čađenović will face Atanas Dimov from Bulgaria in the semifinals, scheduled for tomorrow. Earlier in the tournament, he had already outperformed Andreas Garcia from Guatemala, showcasing his strong form throughout the event.

In contrast, fellow athletes Lazar Klikovac and Viktor Borozan faced elimination in the quarterfinals. Klikovac, competing in the K1 discipline in the under 86-kilogram category, had a promising start, leading against current world champion Berka Duzenlija during the first two rounds. Unfortunately, he received a penalty point in the third round, which, combined with some contentious scoring decisions, led to Duzenlija’s victory.

Borozan, who fought in the low kick category at under 67 kilograms, had two impressive victories earlier in the tournament, defeating Adil Omer from Iraq and Dustin Kronk from Canada. However, his quarterfinal bout ended in disappointment, as he lost to Vedada Ćutuka from Bosnia and Herzegovina with a score of 3-0.

The championship continues to highlight the competitive spirit and skill of fighters from around the globe, with Čađenović standing out as a strong contender for the title. His upcoming match will be crucial in determining the outcome of his championship run, as he aims for a gold medal.
