Woman Arrested for Trespassing at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Residence

A woman was arrested on September 16, 2023, after appearing at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, claiming to be the president’s wife. The individual, identified as Christy Renee Kimbrell, 49, was charged with misdemeanor trespassing following the incident that prompted a response from local law enforcement.
According to an arrest report obtained by the Palm Beach Post, officers from the Palm Beach Police Department arrived shortly after noon in response to reports of an “unwanted guest” at the estate. Kimbrell allegedly attempted to deliver a letter addressed to the president, insisting that she was “Christy Renee Trump” and demanding to see him. At the time of the incident, Trump was away on a state visit to the UK with his wife, Melania Trump.
Kimbrell’s history with the residence raises concerns; officers recognized her from prior attempts to gain entry. Court records indicate that she may be homeless. A probable cause affidavit revealed that Kimbrell had received a written trespass warning in May for repeatedly contacting Mar-a-Lago security and police. On one occasion, she arrived at the Palm Beach Bath & Tennis Club via rideshare and informed security that the president had instructed her to “come back home.”
Following her arrest, a spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service confirmed that the agency was closely collaborating with local police. The spokesperson stated, “While the incident had no impact on our protective operations, we take these matters extremely seriously.” They expressed gratitude to the Town of Palm Beach Police Department for their prompt response.
Kimbrell made her initial appearance before a Palm Beach County judge on September 17, where she was ordered to refrain from any contact with Trump, the Mar-a-Lago estate, or Trump International Golf Club. The judge also mandated that she schedule a mental health evaluation within 30 days, along with restrictions against consuming alcohol or illegal substances, and any drugs not prescribed to her.
The incident underscores the ongoing security challenges faced by high-profile individuals and their residences. The Secret Service emphasized its commitment to ensuring safety and security, reinforcing the importance of quick and effective partnerships with local law enforcement agencies in responding to such situations.
As the investigation continues, the Palm Beach Police Department is expected to provide further updates on Kimbrell’s legal status and any implications arising from this unusual incident.
