Houston Woman, 27, Sticks to No-Kiss Policy Until Marriage

A 27-year-old woman from Houston, Texas, is drawing attention for her decision to refrain from kissing anyone until her wedding day. Elezha Hudson has maintained this vow since she was just 10 years old, telling her mother that she wanted to save her first kiss for marriage. Now, as an adult, she finds that her choice raises eyebrows and prompts questions about her lifestyle.
Elezha, who works as a security guard, claims she has never experienced her first kiss. When discussing her beliefs, she often encounters reactions that suggest others are perplexed, with some questioning if she is part of a cult or if there is something unusual about her choices. “When people find out, they often wonder if there’s something wrong with me,” she said.
While Elezha does date, she notes that relationships tend to falter if intimacy is expected before marriage. “I have dated before, and while some partners share my values, others do not,” she explained. The mismatch in expectations often leads to an end to those relationships.
Despite the challenges, Elezha remains steadfast in her beliefs. “I’m saving my virginity for marriage, and I believe that a kiss can sometimes lead to intimacy. I don’t want that before saying ‘I do’,” she stated. She is open about her decision, which has resulted in both curiosity and disbelief from her peers, particularly during conversations about dating and marriage.
Elezha acknowledges that her perspective on intimacy has evolved over the years. Initially, she felt uncomfortable discussing her choices, often questioning if there was something wrong with her. However, as she matured, she became more comfortable with her decision. “I’ve realized there’s nothing to be ashamed of. If it never happens, I’m not missing out on anything,” she mentioned.
She is not only focused on romantic love but also considers alternative paths to family. “If a family is what I desire, I can adopt and still have a fulfilling life,” she added. Elezha identifies as a Christian, yet she emphasizes that her commitment to remaining a virgin until marriage is a deeply personal choice rather than a strictly religious mandate.
When asked about the notion of kissing, she remarked, “When you have never kissed anyone, people ask how I know if they’ll be a good kisser. It doesn’t matter to me as I have nothing to compare it to.” Her outlook reflects a unique sense of confidence in her values, which she finds empowering rather than limiting.
Elezha anticipates that her first kiss will be a meaningful moment shared with a partner who truly values commitment. “On my wedding day, I’m excited to share a kiss with someone who wants to build a life together,” she said. For her, the connection with a partner far outweighs the significance of the act itself.
Through her story, Elezha Hudson hopes to inspire others to embrace their choices without fear of judgment. Her journey highlights the importance of personal values in the face of societal expectations, reminding us that love and commitment can take many forms.
