Calls Mount for Investigation into Prince Andrew Over Epstein Links

Calls for a police investigation into Prince Andrew are intensifying as concerns grow over his links to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, stated that the former prince should face criminal scrutiny, emphasizing that Andrew should not remain a free man. This statement follows a significant shift in the royal household, with King Charles III officially stripping Andrew of his prince title and evicting him from the Royal Lodge, where he had lived for decades at a nominal cost.
As of October 31, 2025, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing a potential police investigation after Buckingham Palace publicly announced the decision to revoke his royal titles. The announcement has been met with praise from Giuffre’s family, who see it as a step towards accountability. Roberts told BBC Newsnight, “It’s not enough—we need an investigation that goes further into this. He’s still walking around a free man.”
Giuffre’s sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, added that collaboration between the UK and US governments is crucial for addressing the broader implications of the Epstein case, suggesting that Andrew may be just one of many implicated individuals. According to her, “The UK is setting an example for what the US should be doing right now.”
Despite Buckingham Palace’s recent actions, the Metropolitan Police have not dismissed the possibility of a criminal prosecution against Andrew. Allegations against him include sexual assault, corruption, and misconduct in public office. These allegations have prompted the anti-monarchy group Republic to seek legal avenues to hold Andrew accountable, arguing that existing responses to the accusations have been insufficient.
The fallout from Andrew’s actions has reportedly left King Charles feeling “embarrassed and angry,” according to royal biographer Jonathan Dimbleby. He noted on BBC Radio 4 that the King must balance his role as a brother with the need for accountability.
In light of these developments, it has been revealed that Andrew’s friends are willing to come forward to provide a more comprehensive account of his past. Royal historian Andrew Lownie mentioned that many previously loyal associates are now eager to share their stories, following the release of his biography, *Entitled*. Lownie stated that the revelations could lead to a significant update of the book, highlighting the increasing scrutiny around Andrew’s past conduct.
The recent decision by King Charles to remove Andrew’s titles and residence has sparked a range of political responses. Politicians from various parties have voiced support for the King’s actions, emphasizing the need for accountability within the monarchy. Rachael Maskell, the York Central MP, remarked that the monarchy must reflect contemporary values and standards.
Adding to the conversation, Stephen Flynn, leader of the Scottish National Party in Westminster, emphasized the significance of Giuffre’s courage in bringing attention to the issue. He stated, “It’s vindication for them, it’s also vindication for the media, who have doggedly gone after this story for years.”
Despite the public outcry, Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will keep their royal titles. Reports indicate that King Charles is keen to protect his nieces amid the ongoing scandal.
In summary, the controversy surrounding Prince Andrew continues to unfold, with increasing calls for legal action against him. The royal household’s recent decisions suggest a shift in how the monarchy addresses serious allegations, marking a pivotal moment in its history. As scrutiny intensifies, many are watching closely to see if further actions will be taken to ensure accountability for Andrew’s alleged conduct in connection with Epstein.
