Kristen Bell and Adam Brody Celebrate Renewal of Netflix Show
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody celebrated the renewal of their Netflix series, Nobody Wants This, for a third season during a recent event at the Netflix Tudum Theater in Los Angeles. The announcement comes after a challenging period for Bell, who faced significant backlash due to a controversial anniversary post addressing her marriage to Dax Shepard.
Positive Spirits Amid Controversy
At the event on November 8, 2025, Bell appeared in high spirits, embracing her co-star Brody as they marked the exciting news about their show. The comedy series, which features Bell as an agnostic sex podcaster and Brody as a newly single rabbi, will return for a new season in 2026, just 12 days after the premiere of its second season.
Bell wore an elegant all-black outfit consisting of an off-the-shoulder top and flowy trousers, complemented by her signature blonde hair styled down and natural makeup. Brody opted for a stylish checked black and white blazer over a knit white sweater, paired with black pants and derby shoes, reflecting a casual yet polished look.
Controversial Anniversary Post Sparks Outrage
Despite the celebratory atmosphere, Bell’s recent social media post has ignited controversy. The actress shared a quote from Shepard that many deemed “tone-deaf,” particularly as it coincided with Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In the post celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary, Bell quoted Shepard, stating, “Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.'” This message prompted criticism from domestic violence advocates and survivors, leading to widespread condemnation.
Bell has not publicly addressed the backlash or removed the post, and she opted to skip a scheduled appearance on the Today show following the incident. The timing of the post, which coincided with a month dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence, further fueled the outrage.
The couple’s relationship has been scrutinized in the past, but they have also gained recognition for their candid discussions about marriage, therapy, and parenting. Bell has previously expressed admiration for Shepard’s qualities, emphasizing his loyalty and curiosity.
Bell and Shepard first met in 2004, although their initial encounter did not spark an immediate connection. They reconnected three years later, leading to a romance that eventually resulted in their marriage in 2013. The couple shares two daughters: Lincoln, aged 11, and Delta, aged 9.
As the cast and crew of Nobody Wants This participated in a Q&A session at the event, the focus remained on the positive news of the series’ renewal. While Bell navigates the controversy surrounding her anniversary post, the success of their show provides a bright spot amidst the challenges they face.
