Montenegro’s President Welcomes New Ambassadors from Four Nations

President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, received the letters of credence from the newly appointed ambassadors of four countries in a formal ceremony held in Cetinje. The ambassadors represent the Slovak Republic, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and Kazakhstan. This event marks a significant step in enhancing Montenegro’s diplomatic relations.

During the ceremony, which took place on March 15, 2024, President Milatović extended a warm welcome to the ambassadors, wishing them a successful tenure. He expressed optimism that their efforts would contribute to intensified political dialogue and strengthened bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The ambassadors, in response, expressed gratitude for the reception and assured President Milatović of their commitment to enhancing the political, economic, and cultural ties between their respective countries and Montenegro.

Montenegro’s Foreign Policy Priorities

President Milatović took the opportunity to brief the ambassadors on Montenegro’s key foreign policy priorities. He emphasized the goal of achieving European Union membership by 2028 and highlighted the importance of strengthening Montenegro’s credibility within the NATO alliance.

The President also underscored the significance of fostering good-neighborly relations and actively participating in multilateral initiatives, which are essential for the country’s international standing and regional stability.
