Jessie J Postpones Tour as She Focuses on Cancer Recovery
Jessie J has announced the postponement of her upcoming tour to prioritize her recovery from breast cancer. The singer, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, revealed her diagnosis of early-stage breast cancer in June 2025. She initially planned to tour in October, but a second surgery, necessary before the end of the year, will prevent her from doing so.
In a heartfelt two-minute video shared on social media, Jessie J explained her situation to her followers. “I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago,” she stated. “Unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery, nothing too serious, but it has to be done before the end of the year, and that falls right in the middle of a tour that I had booked.” She expressed frustration and sadness but emphasized her need to prioritize her health. “I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make, so I’m postponing the tour till next year,” she added.
The UK and European dates originally set for October 2025 will now take place in April 2026. The singer also confirmed that the US leg of the tour will be canceled for the time being due to scheduling conflicts. “I haven’t been able to finesse the US dates yet, so unfortunately, that will be cancelled,” she shared. Jessie J is hopeful about rescheduling the American shows but acknowledged the challenges of finding suitable dates.
Jessie’s diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) allowed her to avoid chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, a significant tumor measuring 5cm necessitated a full mastectomy. Despite receiving the all-clear following her initial surgery, she remains “cautiously confident” about her recovery. Jessie J has been transparent about her health journey, candidly discussing the possibility of cancer recurrence. In a previous interview, she mentioned the statistic indicating a 1 in 2 chance of the cancer returning.
While she deals with these health challenges, Jessie J reassured her fans that new music is on the way, with a single titled “Believe in Magic” set to release soon. “I’m trying to compartmentalize all the different things that are happening in my life,” she stated. “I have to heal. So forgive me. I’m sorry this sucks, but I know you guys probably knew this was coming.”
Despite the setbacks, Jessie J remains committed to her fans, promising to return to the stage in April 2026 for her UK and European shows. The singer’s health and well-being continue to take precedence as she navigates this difficult time, and she encourages her supporters to bear with her as she focuses on her recovery.
