The stars of HBO’s acclaimed series **The White Lotus**, Parker Posey and Jason Isaacs, have confirmed that the fourth season will be set in the picturesque South of France. During an interview on the Emmys red carpet on **September 14, 2023**, Posey revealed that the production is already in the region, stating, “Mike [White] is in the South of France right now. That’s where Season 4 is going to be.”

Posey, who portrayed the affluent character Victoria Ratliff in the previous season, expressed uncertainty about her return, adding a lighthearted note regarding the beloved character of Tanya, played by Jennifer Coolidge. Tanya met her demise in season two, but Posey joked about the potential for a return, suggesting that “when you’re at the top of a mountain – people can hallucinate spirits.” Her whimsical comment hinted at the creative possibilities that lie ahead for the series.

Isaacs, who played Tim Ratliff alongside Posey, shared a more pragmatic perspective regarding his character’s future. Given that Tim was left financially incapacitated after federal agents froze his accounts, Isaacs quipped, “They’ll be lucky if they can stay in a Howard Johnson’s,” indicating the humorous, yet dire, circumstances of his character’s situation.

Filming for the fourth season is anticipated to take place at several luxurious resorts in the South of France, with the **Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat** on the French Riviera being a strong contender. The show’s previous seasons were filmed at stunning locations, including **Maui**, **Hawaii**, **Sicily**, **Italy**, and **Koh Samui**, **Thailand**. White, who serves as the writer and executive producer, is known for immersing himself in the environment before crafting a season’s narrative.

Jasjit Assi, the manager of the Four Seasons resort in Koh Samui, previously shared insights into White’s creative process. Assi noted that White often takes time to absorb the atmosphere before beginning his writing, reflecting on how the location inspires his storytelling. “He looks at this place, pauses, takes a breath and is staring at the view in front of him,” Assi recalled.

Production for the upcoming season is expected to commence next year, with White returning alongside his production partners **David Bernad** and **Mark Kamine**. As fans eagerly await the next chapter of this critically acclaimed series, the anticipation builds for what the South of France will bring to the luxurious, dramatic world of **The White Lotus**.

The Independent has reached out to HBO representatives for further comments regarding the fourth season’s details and cast confirmations. As the show’s reputation continues to grow, viewers remain excited to see how the unique setting will shape the unfolding narrative.
