Multevo Expands Headquarters Following Strong Growth in Pothole Repair

Multevo, a rapidly growing engineering and construction business based in Darwen, has received planning approval to expand its headquarters. The firm plans to add a new reception area and office to its existing facility located at Unit 1 to 3 on Charles Street. This expansion comes as the company enjoys notable success with its innovative pothole repair machines.
In March 2023, Multevo was recognized in the Financial Times list of Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies, ranking 398th out of 1,000. Since its establishment in 2010 with just four employees, Multevo has grown significantly, now employing over 340 people across the United Kingdom. The company provides a variety of services, including highways, civil engineering, groundworks, arboriculture, traffic management, and plant and fleet maintenance.
New Building to Enhance Operations
The new single-storey building, measuring 36 square metres, will serve as an ancillary office and reception area for Multevo’s repair garage. It will be constructed adjacent to the existing premises and is designed to integrate seamlessly with the current site. The proposed structure features a flat roof and brick construction that matches the aesthetics of the main buildings.
Approval for the development was granted by Blackburn with Darwen Council, which outlined four conditions attached to the planning permission. A planning officer’s report noted that the building’s modest scale would not detract from the broader functions of the site. It also indicated that the structure would be partially visible from adjacent Duckworth Street, but largely obscured by the main building.
The report emphasized that the new reception area would not interfere with existing parking or pedestrian movements on the site. This thoughtful approach to the development aims to enhance Multevo’s operational capabilities while maintaining the functionality of the surrounding area.
Innovative Partnership with Local Council
Recently, Multevo announced a partnership with Lancashire County Council to utilize its pothole repair technology for resurfacing local roads. This initiative focuses on recycling existing materials on site, resulting in durable, first-time repairs. The collaboration aligns with Multevo’s commitment to sustainability and efficiency in civil engineering.
As Multevo continues to expand its footprint, the company’s focus on innovation and community engagement remains a key driver of its success. The upcoming headquarters expansion is expected to further support its growth trajectory and enhance service delivery to clients across the region.
