On March 17, 2024, Councillor Jessica Johnston, the Deputy Lord Mayor of ABC Council, organized a coffee morning in support of the local breast cancer charity Pretty ‘n Pink. The event, held at the Portadown Town Hall, brought together community members to enjoy refreshments and home-baked treats while raising funds for individuals and families affected by breast cancer across Northern Ireland.
Participants not only enjoyed a morning of camaraderie but also contributed to the charity’s crucial work. A significant highlight of the event was the planting of a tree in Edenvilla Park to honor those impacted by breast cancer in the local community. Cllr Johnston expressed her sentiment about the tree-planting ceremony, stating, “It was an honour to be part of this meaningful tribute.”
Community Support and Acknowledgments
During her remarks, Councillor Johnston extended her gratitude to Pretty ‘n Pink for their vital contributions in supporting affected families. “Thank you to Pretty ‘n Pink for all the vital work they do. Also a big thank you to everyone that supported our coffee morning in Portadown Town Hall,” she stated.
The event showcased a strong sense of community, with numerous attendees, including local politicians and supporters, coming together to raise awareness and funds. Notable guests included Doug Beattie MC MLA, Councillor Kate Evans, and others who mingled and enjoyed the atmosphere.
