West Ham Targets £44 Million Striker Duo to Avoid Relegation

West Ham United is moving swiftly in the January transfer window, aiming to secure two strikers for a combined fee of £44 million to bolster their chances of avoiding relegation. The club has reached an agreement with Lazio for a £25 million deal to sign striker Taty Castellanos. Additionally, West Ham is pursuing a £19 million deal for Pablo, a forward from Gil Vicente.

As the Hammers look to strengthen their squad, personal terms with Castellanos are still under negotiation. The 27-year-old forward is expected to add significant firepower to a team currently battling relegation. West Ham’s management understands the urgency of the situation and is keen on finalizing the deal swiftly.

In addition to strikers, West Ham is also exploring options for a winger this month. They are reportedly interested in Adama Traore from Fulham. A short-term contract until the end of the season is being considered, although Fulham is seeking up to £7 million for the former Wolves player. Traore’s speed and dribbling skills could provide the attacking edge needed for West Ham.

While pursuing these new signings, West Ham has also shown interest in Raheem Sterling, a winger from Chelsea who has fallen out of favor with his current team. Following a disappointing loan spell with Arsenal last year, Sterling has been largely absent from the Chelsea first team. Despite West Ham’s inquiry about a potential loan move, Sterling is reportedly not interested in relocating again at this stage in his career.

Fulham, who had previously considered a deal for Sterling during the summer transfer window, maintain an interest in the player.

Meanwhile, West Ham is on the verge of transferring Luis Guilherme to Sporting Lisbon for £15 million. The 19-year-old winger joined West Ham for £20 million in 2024 but has struggled to make an impact, failing to score in 18 appearances for the club.

In summary, as the January transfer window progresses, West Ham United is focusing on enhancing their squad to avoid relegation. With the potential acquisition of Castellanos and Pablo, alongside a pursuit for Traore and ongoing discussions regarding Sterling, the Hammers are determined to turn their season around.
