Jesy Nelson, the former Little Mix star, has shared a heartfelt message about body acceptance following the birth of her twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe. In a recent Instagram post, the singer reflected on her journey toward self-love after years of struggling with body image, particularly after giving birth to her daughters five months ago.

In a series of striking black-and-white photos, Nelson posed in her underwear while cradling her twins. She expressed her newfound appreciation for her body, stating, “I never thought it would have taken having two beautiful baby girls, that I could have potentially lost, to make me realize how incredible my body actually is.”

Embracing Motherhood and Self-Acceptance

Nelson’s candid admission comes after what she described as “33 years of extreme dieting” and self-criticism regarding her appearance. The singer recounted her past desires for a flatter belly and smaller waist, even considering cosmetic surgery. “I can honestly say I’ve never felt prouder of my body and what it has been through!” she wrote.

She acknowledged that her body has changed, stating, “Yes, my boobs hang lower and my belly is bigger and squishier — it doesn’t look how it used to, but my god it created the best gift that has ever happened to me.” Her emotional post resonated with many, as she encouraged new and expectant mothers to be gentle with themselves. “If you’re struggling with how you are feeling in yourself or are maybe even feeling the pressure to ‘snap back,’ just take a moment to remember what YOU did! Be kinder to yourself and remember you are INCREDIBLE!!!”

The post received an outpouring of support from fans and friends alike, with many praising her as a role model. Comments included messages of admiration, such as, “Incredible woman, incredible mama,” reflecting the positive impact of her words.

Overcoming Challenges in Parenthood

Nelson and her fiancé, Zion, welcomed their daughters at just 31 weeks due to a rare condition known as twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS). Both babies required time in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) before they could come home. Nelson recently shared her emotional experience during this challenging period, describing the overwhelming feelings of helplessness that accompany having a child in NICU.

“Nothing or no one will ever be able to prepare you as a parent for NICU,” she stated. “It’s the most scary overwhelming feeling of emotions not being able to feel like you can protect your babies.” She recalled the joy of finally holding her daughters together, calling it “the most magical feeling I will never be able to describe.”

Despite the difficulties, Nelson’s relationship with Zion deepened during this time, as he noted, “I think it’s at these times when you really, really know what love you have and what your relationship means.”

Through her journey, Jesy Nelson continues to inspire many with her openness about motherhood and body positivity, encouraging others to embrace their own journeys with kindness and love.
